The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ASCL1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9348748 kit is based on ASCL1 antibody-ASCL1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ASCL1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ASCL1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. ASCL1_HUMAN

This gene encodes a member of the basic helix-loop-helix (BHLH) family of transcription factors. The protein activates transcription by binding to the E box (5'-CANNTG-3'). Dimerization with other BHLH proteins is required for efficient DNA binding. This protein plays a role in the neuronal commitment and differentiation and in the generation of olfactory and autonomic neurons. Mutations in this gene may contribute to the congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS) phenotype in rare cases. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
