The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing MPF. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS035246 kit is based on MPF antibody-MPF antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect MPF antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, MPF. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

Mesothelian is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored cell-surface protein that may function as a cell adhesion protein. This protein is overexpressed in epithelial mesotheliomas, ovarian cancers and in specific squamous cell carcinomas. MSLN: Membrane-anchored forms may play a role in cellular adhesion. Antibodies against MSLN are detected in patients with mesothelioma and ovarian cancer. Belongs to the mesothelin family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
