CCL4 recombinant protein
Description: The small chemotactic cytokine CCL4 (MIP-1 beta) is a chemoattractant for natural killer cells, monocytes and a variety of other immune cells. CCL4 is involved in several inflammatory and autoimmune diseases including viral infection such as HIV-1/AIDS. Rabbit CCL4 Recombinant Protein is purified chemokine ligand 4 (CCL4, MIP-1 beta) produced in yeast.
Background: Chemokine ligand 4 (CCL4) is a small chemotactic cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family that is also known as macrophage inflammatory protein-1beta (MIP-1 beta). There are at least 27 distinct members of the C-C subgroup reported for mammals. They are characterized by two adjacent cysteines. CC chemokines induce the migration of monocytes and other cell types such as NK cells and dendritic cells. CCL4 (MIP-1 beta) is a chemoattractant for natural killer cells, monocytes and a variety of other immune cells. CCL4 is involved in several inflammatory and autoimmune diseases including viral infection such as HIV-1/AIDS.

NCBI Summary for CCL4
The protein encoded by this gene is a mitogen-inducible monokine and is one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. The encoded protein is secreted and has chemokinetic and inflammatory functions. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2012]
Research Articles on CCL4
1. Results indicate the potential association of decreased macrophage inflammatory protein (MIP)-1alpha (MIP-1alpha) and MIP-1beta levels with the
prospective risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) development in southern China.
