Description: C/EBP-epsilon C/EBP are DNA-binding proteins that recognize two different motifs: the CCAAT homology common to many promoters and the enhanced core homology common to many enhancers. Belongs to the bZIP family. C/EBP subfamily.
Function: Transcriptional activator (PubMed:26019275). C/EBP are DNA-binding proteins that recognize two different motifs: the CCAAT homology common to many promoters and the enhanced core homology common to many enhancers. Required for the promyelocyte-myelocyte transition in myeloid differentiation (PubMed:10359588).
Subunit Structure: Binds DNA as a homodimer and as a heterodimer (PubMed:26019275). Can form stable heterodimers with CEBPA, CEBPB and CEBPD (By similarity). Interacts with GATA1 AND SPI1 (PubMed:26019275). Interacts with SMARCD2 (PubMed:28369036).
Post-translational Modifications: Phosphorylated.
Similarity: Belongs to the bZIP family. C/EBP subfamily.

Immunofluorescene (IF) of anti-CEBPE antibody
MBS9600036 staining HuvEc by IF/ICC. The sample were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25 degree C. The primary antibody was diluted at 1/200 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 37 degree C. An Alexa Fluor 594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) Ab, diluted at 1/600, was used as the secondary antibody.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-CEBPE antibody
MBS9600036 at 1/200 staining human Bone marrow tissue sections by IHC-P. The tissue was formaldehyde fixed and a heat mediated antigen retrieval step in citrate buffer was performed. The tissue was then blocked and incubated with the antibody for 1.5 hours at 22 degree C. An HRP conjugated goat anti-rabbit antibody was used as the secondary.

Immunofluorescence (IF) of anti-CEBPE antibody
MBS9600036 staining U-2 OS cells by IF/ICC. The sample were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25 degree C. The primary antibody was diluted at 1/200 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 37 degree C. An Alexa Fluor 594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) antibody, diluted at 1/600, was used as secondary antibody.

NCBI Summary for CEBPE
The protein encoded by this gene is a bZIP transcription factor which can bind as a homodimer to certain DNA regulatory regions. It can also form heterodimers with the related protein CEBP-delta. The encoded protein may be essential for terminal differentiation and functional maturation of committed granulocyte progenitor cells. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Specific Granule Deficiency, a rare congenital disorder. Multiple variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of only one has been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Research Articles on CEBPE
1. CEBPE expression was highest in multipotent progenitor cells (S1) and declined sharply as cells progressed to B-cell-committed progenitors, including pre-B-I cells (S2), pre-B-II cells (S3) and immature B cells (S4)
