Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of SLC5A2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS288937 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Sodium/glucose cotransporter 2 (SLC5A2) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing SLC5A2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS288937 kit is based on SLC5A2 antibody-SLC5A2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect SLC5A2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, SLC5A2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for SLC5A2
This gene encodes a member of the sodium glucose cotransporter family which are sodium-dependent glucose transport proteins. The encoded protein is the major cotransporter involved in glucose reabsorption in the kidney. Mutations in this gene are associated with renal glucosuria. Two transcript variants, one protein-coding and one not, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2015]
UniProt Comments for SLC5A2
SLC5A2: Sodium-dependent glucose transporter. Has a Na(+) to glucose coupling ratio of 1:1. Defects in SLC5A2 are the cause of renal glucosuria (GLYS1). GLYS1 is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by a normal fasting serum glucose concentration and persistent isolated glucosuria, with a normal glucose tolerance test. Belongs to the sodium:solute symporter (SSF) (TC 2.A.21) family.
Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Transporter, SLC family; Transporter; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16p11.2
Cellular Component: brush border membrane; integral to membrane; plasma membrane
Molecular Function: low-affinity glucose:sodium symporter activity
Biological Process: carbohydrate metabolic process; sodium ion transport; transmembrane transport; transport
Disease: Renal Glucosuria
