Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of FAT4 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS9322414 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the FAT tumor suppressor homolog 4 (Drosophila) (FAT4) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing FAT4. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9322414 kit is based on FAT4 antibody-FAT4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FAT4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FAT4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

FAT4 elisa kit
Background: This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic or diagnostic applications! This kit is intended to be used for determination the level of FAT4 (hereafter termed "analyte") in undiluted original Human body fluids, tissue homogenates, secretions or feces samples. This kit is NOT suitable for assaying non-biological sources of substances.

NCBI Summary for FAT4
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protocadherin family. This gene may play a role in regulating planar cell polarity (PCP). Studies in mice suggest that loss of PCP signaling may cause cystic kidney disease, and mutations in this gene have been associated with Van Maldergem Syndrome 2. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been noted for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]
UniProt Comments for FAT4
FAT4: May function in the regulation of planar cell polarity. Cadherins are cell-cell interaction molecules. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q28.1
Cellular Component: apical part of cell; plasma membrane; integral to membrane
Molecular Function: protein binding; calcium ion binding
Biological Process: heart morphogenesis; heterophilic cell adhesion; inner ear receptor stereocilium organization and biogenesis; neurogenesis; gut development; plasma membrane organization and biogenesis; ureteric bud branching; cerebral cortex development; homophilic cell adhesion
Disease: Van Maldergem Syndrome 2; Hennekam Lymphangiectasia-lymphedema Syndrome 2
Research Articles on FAT4
1. findings show that mutations in genes encoding the receptor-ligand cadherin pair DCHS1 and FAT4 lead to a recessive syndrome in humans that includes periventricular neuronal heterotopia
