Greater than 85.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Sterile filtered colorless solution.
CD18 protein solution (0.25mg/ml) containing Phosphate Buffered Saline (pH 7.4) and 10% glycerol.

Store at 4 degree C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20 degree C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Small volumes of CD18 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Description: CD18 Human Recombinant produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 686 amino acids (23-700 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 75.9kDa (Migrates at 70-100kDa on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions). CD18 is expressed with an 8 amino acid His tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Introduction: CD18 (ITGB2 or integrin beta-2) is a receptor for ICAM1, ICAM2, ICAM3 and ICAM4. CD18 may be a member of an extended family of cell surface molecules including the fibronectin binding protein. In addition, CD18 is a complement receptor type 3 (CR3). CD18 triggers neutrophil transmigration during lung injury through PTK2B/PYK2-mediated activation.

This gene encodes an integrin beta chain, which combines with multiple different alpha chains to form different integrin heterodimers. Integrins are integral cell-surface proteins that participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signalling. The encoded protein plays an important role in immune response and defects in this gene cause leukocyte adhesion deficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. ITGB2: the integrin beta 2 subunit. Can combine with multiple partners resulting in different integrins. For example, beta 2 combines with the alpha L chain to form the integrin LFA-1, and combines with the alpha M chain to form the integrin Mac-1. Participates in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signaling. Defects are the cause of leukocyte adhesion deficiency type I (LAD1).
