Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of HTR3B elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS9327360 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor 3B (HTR3B) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing HTR3B. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9327360 kit is based on HTR3B antibody-HTR3B antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect HTR3B antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, HTR3B. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for HTR3B
The product of this gene belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel receptor superfamily. This gene encodes subunit B of the type 3 receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. This receptor causes fast, depolarizing responses in neurons after activation. It is not functional as a homomeric complex, but a pentaheteromeric complex with subunit A (HTR3A) displays the full functional features of this receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
UniProt Comments for HTR3B
5-HT(3B): This is one of the several different receptors for 5- hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. This receptor is a ligand-gated ion channel, which when activated causes fast, depolarizing responses. It is a cation-specific, but otherwise relatively nonselective, ion channel. Belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel (TC 1.A.9) family. 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor (TC 1.A.9.2) subfamily. HTR3B sub-subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Transporter, ion channel; Channel, cation; Channel, ligand-gated; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q23.1
Cellular Component: postsynaptic membrane; integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane
Molecular Function: serotonin-activated cation-selective channel activity; serotonin receptor activity; ion channel activity
Biological Process: synaptic transmission; transport; transmembrane transport; serotonin receptor signaling pathway

1. This is the first study to show an association between 5-HTR3B and PCS scores, thus suggesting a role of the serotonin pathway in pain catastrophizing.
