Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of RP1L1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS9324155 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the retinitis pigmentosa 1-like 1 (RP1L1) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing RP1L1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9324155 kit is based on RP1L1 antibody-RP1L1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect RP1L1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, RP1L1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for RP1L1
This gene encodes a member of the doublecortin family. This protein is a retinal-specific protein. It contains two N-terminal doublecortin domains, which can assemble and stabilize axonemal microtubules, but lacks the C-terminal repetitive regions including the 16aa repeat found in human RP1L1. This protein and the RP1 protein, another retinal-specific protein, play essential and synergistic roles in affecting photosensitivity and outer segment morphogenesis of rod photoreceptors. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
UniProt Comments for RP1L1
RP1L1: Required for the differentiation of photoreceptor cells. Plays a role in the organization of outer segment of rod and cone photoreceptors. Defects in RP1L1 are the cause of occult macular dystrophy (OCMD). An inherited macular dystrophy characterized by progressive loss of macular function but normal ophthalmoscopic appearance. It is typically characterized by a central cone dysfunction leading to a loss of vision despite normal ophthalmoscopic appearance, normal fluorescein angiography, and normal full-field electroretinogram (ERGs), but the amplitudes of the focal macular ERGs and multifocal ERGs are significantly reduced at the central retina. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Unknown function
Cellular Component: cytoskeleton; cell projection; photoreceptor outer segment; cytoplasm; axoneme; photoreceptor connecting cilium; cilium
Biological Process: photoreceptor cell development; cell projection organization and biogenesis; visual perception; retina development in camera-type eye; photoreceptor cell maintenance; response to stimulus; axoneme biogenesis
Research Articles on RP1L1
1. Rp1 and Rp1L1 play essential and synergistic roles in affecting photosensitivity and morphogenesis of rod photoreceptors. Our findings suggest that mutations in RP1L1 could underlie retinopathy or modify RP1 disease expression
