Biological Significance
Beta-galactosidase is a hydrolase enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of Beta-galactosides into monosaccharides. Substrates of different Beta-galactosidases include ganglioside GM1, lactosylceramides, lactose, and various glycoproteins. Lactase is often confused as an alternative name for Beta-galactosidase, but it is actually simply a sub-class of Beta-galactosidase.
Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Immunogen
Beta Galactosidase antibody was raised in chicken using beta galactosidase from E coli as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4 degree C.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-GLB1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
