Species Reactivity
Mouse
No cross-reactivity with human Ahi-1
Specificity
A specific and sensitive antibody against Ahi-1. The antibody recognizes the C-terminal of the murine Ahi-1.
Form/Format
Lyophilized protein G purified in PBS pH7.4
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized antibody can be kept at 4 degree C for up to 3 months and should be kept at-20 degree C for long-term storage.
To avoid freeze-thaw cycles, reconstituted antibody should be aliquoted before freezing for short-term storage (-20 degree C) or for long-term storage (-80 degree C).
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-Ahi-1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-Ahi-1 antibody
Abelson helper integration site 1 (Ahi-1) is highly expressed in the most primitive normal hematopoietic cells, in brain neurons and in kidney. Ahi-1 is a unique protein with a SH3 domain, multiple SH3 s and a WD40-repeat domain, which are all known to be important mediators of protein-protein interactions. Defects in Ahi-1 are the cause of Joubert syndrome type 3 (JBTS3).
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-Ahi-1 antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes for anti-Ahi-1 antibody
If reconstituted in 100muL: WB: 1-2 mug/ml; IP: 1-2 pg of antibody to 200-600 pg of proteins; IHC: 1-5 mug/ml

NCBI Summary for Ahi-1
This gene is apparently required for both cerebellar and cortical development in humans. This gene mutations cause specific forms of Joubert syndrome-related disorders. Joubert syndrome (JS) is a recessively inherited developmental brain disorder with several identified causative chromosomal loci. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
UniProt Comments for Ahi-1
Involved in vesicle trafficking and required for ciliogenesis, formation of primary non-motile cilium, and recruitment of RAB8A to the basal body of primary cilium. Component of the tectonic-like complex, a complex localized at the transition zone of primary cilia and acting as a barrier that prevents diffusion of transmembrane proteins between the cilia and plasma membranes. Involved in neuronal differentiation. As a positive modulator of classical Wnt signaling, may play a crucial role in ciliary signaling during cerebellum embryonic development (PubMed:21623382).
