Sterile filtered colorless solution.
The PGAM2 solution (1mg/ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH8.0), 20% glycerol, 0.1M NaCl and 1mM DTT.

Store at 4 degree C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20 degree C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Small volumes of PGAM2 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Description: PGAM2 Human Recombinant produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 273 amino acids (1-253) and having a molecular mass of 30.9kDa.PGAM2 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

PGAM is a dimeric enzyme which contains in separate tissues, different proportions of a slow-migrating muscle (MM) isozyme, a fast-migrating brain (BB) isozyme, and a hybrid form (MB). PGAM (Phosphoglycerate mutase) catalyzes the reversible reaction of 3-phosphoglycerate (3-PGA) to 2-phosphoglycerate (2-PGA) in the glycolytic pathway. PGAM2 gene mutations cause muscle phosphoglycerate mutase efficiency, otherwise known as glycogen storage disease X.

Phosphoglycerate mutase (PGAM) catalyzes the reversible reaction of 3-phosphoglycerate (3-PGA) to 2-phosphoglycerate (2-PGA) in the glycolytic pathway. The PGAM is a dimeric enzyme containing, in different tissues, different proportions of a slow-migrating muscle (MM) isozyme, a fast-migrating brain (BB) isozyme, and a hybrid form (MB). PGAM2: Interconversion of 3- and 2-phosphoglycerate with 2,3- bisphosphoglycerate as the primer of the reaction. Can also catalyze the reaction of EC 5.4.2.4 (synthase) and EC 3.1.3.13 (phosphatase), but with a reduced activity. Defects in PGAM2 are the cause of glycogen storage disease type 10 (GSD10). A metabolic disorder characterized by myoglobinuria, increased serum creatine kinase levels, decreased phosphoglycerate mutase activity, myalgia, muscle pain, muscle cramps and excercise intolerance. Belongs to the phosphoglycerate mutase family. BPG- dependent PGAM subfamily.
