The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ATGL. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS7254864 kit is based on ATGL antibody-ATGL antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ATGL antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ATGL. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

This ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of the targets.

Catalyzes the initial step in triglyceride hydrolysis in adipocyte and non-adipocyte lipid droplets (PubMed:15550674). Also has acylglycerol transacylase activity. May act coordinately with LIPE/HLS within the lipolytic cascade. Regulates adiposome size and may be involved in the degradation of adiposomes (PubMed:16239926). May play an important role in energy homeostasis. May play a role in the response of the organism to starvation, enhancing hydrolysis of triglycerides and providing free fatty acids to other tissues to be oxidized in situations of energy depletion.
