This UGT1A1 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 65-90 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human UGT1A1.

Form/Format
Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is purified through a protein A column, followed by peptide affinity purification.
Function
UDPGT is of major importance in the conjugation and subsequent elimination of potentially toxic xenobiotics and endogenous compounds. This isoform glucuronidates bilirubin IX- alpha to form both the IX-alpha-C8 and IX-alpha-C12 monoconjugates and diconjugate. Is also able to catalyze the glucuronidation of 17beta-estradiol, 17alpha-ethinylestradiol, 1-hydroxypyrene, 4- methylumbelliferone, 1-naphthol, paranitrophenol, scopoletin, and umbelliferone. Isoform 2 lacks transferase activity but acts as a negative regulator of isoform 1.

Isoform 1: Microsome. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass membrane protein
Tissue Location
Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are expressed in liver, colon and small intestine. Isoform 2 but not isoform 1 is expressed in kidney. Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are not expressed in esophagus. Not expressed in skin.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20 degree C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Small volumes of anti-UGT1A1 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap.
