The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing TGFbI. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS725109 kit is based on TGFbI antibody-TGFbI antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TGFbI antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TGFbI. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

The RGD motif is found in many extracellular matrix proteins modulating cell adhesion and serves as a ligand recognition sequence for several integrins. This protein plays a role in cell-collagen interactions and may be involved in endochondrial bone formation in cartilage. The protein is induced by transforming growth factor-beta and acts to inhibit cell adhesion. Mutations in this gene are associated with multiple types of corneal dystrophy.
