Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of Gys1 assay kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Product Information: Glycogen Assay Kit: Colorimetric & Fluorometric Assay for measuring Glycogen levels in a variety of Samples such as Tissue, Cells etc. within 30 min. Simple & Convenient. Detection Range: 0.0004 to 2 mg/ml. 100 Assays.
Background: Glycogen is the primary short term energy storage molecule in animals, synthesized primarily in the liver and muscle. Glycogen is a branched glucose polymer, in alpha-1,4 linkage, with branching via alpha-1,6 linkage. Abnormal ability to utilize glycogen is found in diabetes and in several genetic glycogen storage diseases. The MyBioSource Kit is an easy and accurate assay to measure glycogen levels in
biological samples. In the assay, glucoamylase hydrolyzes the glycogen to glucose which is then specifically oxidized to produce a product that reacts with OxiRed probe to generate color (570 nm) and fluorescence (Ex 535/Em 587). The assay can detect glycogen 0.0004 to 2 mg/ml.
Summary: Detection method- Absorbance (570 nm) or Fluorescence (Ex/Em 535/587 nm)
Species reactivity- Mammalian
Applications- The assay can detect glycogen 0.0004 to 2 mg/ml.
