1 mg/ml (lot specific)
Target Modification
Phospho
Modification Sites
H:Y20; M:Y20
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized phospho-peptide derived from human CD71 around the phosphorylation site of Tyr20.
Preparation and Storage
Stable at -20 degree C for at least 1 year.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-CD71 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CD71
This gene encodes a cell surface receptor necessary for cellular iron uptake by the process of receptor-mediated endocytosis. This receptor is required for erythropoiesis and neurologic development. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
UniProt Comments for CD71
Cellular uptake of iron occurs via receptor-mediated endocytosis of ligand-occupied transferrin receptor into specialized endosomes. Endosomal acidification leads to iron release. The apotransferrin-receptor complex is then recycled to the cell surface with a return to neutral pH and the concomitant loss of affinity of apotransferrin for its receptor. Transferrin receptor is necessary for development of erythrocytes and the nervous system (). A second ligand, the heditary hemochromatosis protein HFE, competes for binding with transferrin for an overlapping C-terminal . Positively regulates T and B cell proliferation through iron uptake (PubMed:26642240).

1. results suggest that lower Hepcidin-25, as well as higher sTfR and sTfR/Hepcidin-25 ratio were significant predictors of favorable hemoglobin response within a month after IV administration of ferric carboxymaltose in patients with CKD
