The protein solution contains 20mM Tris buffer pH-8, 1mM DTT, 20% glycerol and 2mM EDTA.
Sterile filtered colorless solution.

Store at 4 degree C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20 degree C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Small volumes of BAALC recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Description: BAALC Human Recombinant produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 165 amino acids (1-145 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 17.7 kDa. The BAALC protein is fused to a 20 amino acid His Tag at N-terminus and purified by standard chromatogrpahy techniques.

Introduction: BAALC gene is found in patients with acute myeloid leukemia and is conserved among mammals and is not found in lower organisms. Tissues which express BAALC develop from the neuroectoderm. BAALC is located both in the membrane and in the cytoplasma, it exists as multiple alternatively spliced isoform.

This gene was identified by gene expression studies in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The gene is conserved among mammals and is not found in lower organisms. Tissues that express this gene develop from the neuroectoderm. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been described for this gene; however, some of the transcript variants are found only in AML cell lines. BAALC: May play a synaptic role at the postsynaptic lipid rafts by interacting with CAMK2A. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
