Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-CETP antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Peptide ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-CETP antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 64000.
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave bands at approx 48kDa and 28kDa in HepG2 lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the bands we observe given the calculated size of 54.8kDa according to NP_000069.2. Both detected bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide (and BLAST results with the immunizing peptide sequence did not identify any other proteins to explain the additional bands).

NCBI Summary for CETP
The protein encoded by this gene is found in plasma, where it is involved in the transfer of cholesteryl ester from high density lipoprotein (HDL) to other lipoproteins. Defects in this gene are a cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia 1 (HALP1). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2013]
UniProt Comments for CETP
CETP: Involved in the transfer of insoluble cholesteryl esters in the reverse transport of cholesterol. Defects in CETP are the cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia type 1 (HALP1). Affected individuals show high levels of alpha-lipoprotein (high density lipoprotein/HDL). Belongs to the BPI/LBP/Plunc superfamily. BPI/LBP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
