Produced in mice using highly pure (>98%) recombinant human BMP-7/OP-1 as the immunizing antigen. This IgG1K antibody was purified from cell culture by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-BMP-7 antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA)
Application Notes for anti-BMP-7 antibody
Immunohistochemistery: This antibody stained formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of human breast malignant carcinoma. The recommended concentration is 5.0 ug/mL with an overnight incubation at 4 degree C. An HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with a DAB chromogen. Heat induced antigen retrieval with a pH 9.0 buffer is recommended. See photo(s). Tissue samples were provided by the Cooperative Human Tissue Network, which is funded by the National Cancer Institute. Information and photo are courtesy of Flagship Biosciences, LLC - Histology Services.
Sandwich ELISA: In a sandwich ELISA (assuming 100 ul/well), when used as a capture antibody at a concentration of 2.0-4.0 ug/ml, this antibody will detect at least 100 pg/ml of recombinant human BMP-7/OP-1 when used with biotinylated antigen-affinity purified anti-hBMP-7/OP-1 as the detection antibody at a concentration of approximately 0.5-1.0 ug/ml.

NCBI Summary for BMP-7
The bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are a family of secreted signaling molecules that can induce ectopic bone growth. Many BMPs are part of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB) superfamily. BMPs were originally identified by an ability of demineralized bone extract to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo in an extraskeletal site. Based on its expression early in embryogenesis, the BMP encoded by this gene has a proposed role in early development and possible bone inductive activity. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
UniProt Comments for BMP-7
BMP7: Induces cartilage and bone formation. May be the osteoinductive factor responsible for the phenomenon of epithelial osteogenesis. Plays a role in calcium regulation and bone homeostasis. Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Interacts with SOSTDC1. Interacts with TWSG1. Expressed in the kidney and bladder. Lower levels seen in the brain. Belongs to the TGF-beta family.
