Related Product Information for
anti-LMNB antibody
The nuclear lamina consists of a two-dimensional matrix of proteins located next to the inner nuclear membrane. The lamin family of proteins make up the matrix and are highly conserved in evolution. During mitosis, the lamina matrix is reversibly disassembled as the lamin proteins are phosphorylated. Lamin proteins are thought to be involved in nuclear stability, chromatin structure and gene expression.

NCBI Summary for LMNB
This gene encodes one of the two B-type lamin proteins and is a component of the nuclear lamina. A duplication of this gene is associated with autosomal dominant *****-onset leukodystrophy (ADLD). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
UniProt Comments for LMNB
Lamins are components of the nuclear lamina, a fibrous layer on the nucleoplasmic side of the inner nuclear membrane, which is thought to provide a framework for the nuclear envelope and may also interact with chromatin.
Research Articles on LMNB
1. In this report we show that increased self-association propensity of mutant LA modulates the LA-LB1 interaction and precludes the formation of an otherwise uniform laminar network. Our results might highlight the role of homotypic and heterotypic interactions of LA in the pathogenesis of DCM and hence laminopathies in the broader sense.
