Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of ACAN elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS9333952 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the aggrecan (ACAN) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ACAN. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9333952 kit is based on ACAN antibody-ACAN antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ACAN antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ACAN. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for ACAN
Function: This proteoglycan is a major component of extracellular matrix of cartilagenous tissues. A major function of this protein is to resist compression in cartilage. It binds avidly to hyaluronic acid via an N-terminal globular region. May play a regulatory role in the matrix assembly of the cartilage.
Subunit structure: Interacts with FBLN1 and COMP
By similarity.
Subcellular location: Secreted › extracellular space › extracellular matrix
By similarity.
Domain: Two globular domains, G1 and G2, comprise the N-terminus of the proteoglycan, while another globular region, G3, makes up the C-terminus. G1 contains Link domains and thus consists of three disulfide-bonded loop structures designated as the A, B, B' motifs. G2 is similar to G1. The keratan sulfate (KS) and the chondroitin sulfate (CS) attachment domains lie between G2 and G3.
Post-translational modification: Contains mostly chondroitin sulfate, but also keratan sulfate chains, N-linked and O-linked oligosaccharides
By similarity.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the aggrecan/versican proteoglycan family.Contains 1 C-type lectin domain.Contains 1 EGF-like domain.Contains 1 Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain.Contains 4 Link domains.Contains 1 Sushi (CCP/SCR) domain.
