Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of ALDH1A2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS9379662 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Aldehyde Dehydrogenase 1 Family, Member A2 (ALDH1A2) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ALDH1A2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9379662 kit is based on ALDH1A2 antibody-ALDH1A2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ALDH1A2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ALDH1A2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for ALDH1A2
This protein belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family of proteins. The product of this gene is an enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of retinoic acid (RA) from retinaldehyde. Retinoic acid, the active derivative of vitamin A (retinol), is a hormonal signaling molecule that functions in developing and ***** tissues. The studies of a similar mouse gene suggest that this enzyme and the cytochrome CYP26A1, concurrently establish local embryonic retinoic acid levels which facilitate posterior organ development and prevent spina bifida. Four transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]
UniProt Comments for ALDH1A2
ALDH1A2: Recognizes as substrates free retinal and cellular retinol-binding protein-bound retinal. Does metabolize octanal and decanal but does not metabolize citral, benzaldehyde, acetaldehyde and propanal efficiently. Belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Cofactor and Vitamin Metabolism - retinol; EC 1.2.1.36; Oxidoreductase
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q21.3
Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol
Molecular Function: 3-chloroallyl aldehyde dehydrogenase activity; aldehyde dehydrogenase (NAD) activity; retinal binding; retinal dehydrogenase activity
Biological Process: negative regulation of cell proliferation; neural tube development; response to cytokine stimulus; retinoic acid metabolic process
