If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Function: The heterodimer formed by GIMAP2 and GIMAP7 has GTPase activity. In contrast, GIMAP2 has no GTPase activity by itself.
Subunit Structure: Monomer in the presence of bound GDP and in the absence of bound nucleotide. Homodimer in the presence of bound GTP. Can form linear oligomers. Heterodimer with GIMAP7.
Similarity: Belongs to the TRAFAC class TrmE-Era-EngA-EngB-Septin-like GTPase superfamily. AIG1/Toc34/Toc159-like paraseptin GTPase family. IAN subfamily.

MBS9605555 staining HT29 by IF/ICC. The sample were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25 degree C. The primary antibody was diluted at 1/200 and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 37 degree C. An Alexa Fluor 594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) Ab, diluted at 1/600, was used as the secondary antibody.

This gene encodes a protein belonging to the GTP-binding superfamily and to the immuno-associated nucleotide (IAN) subfamily of nucleotide-binding proteins. In humans, the IAN subfamily genes are located in a cluster at 7q36.1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

The heterodimer formed by GIMAP2 and GIMAP7 has GTPase activity. In contrast, GIMAP2 has no GTPase activity by itself.
