The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing KCTD7. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS7229718 kit is based on KCTD7 antibody-KCTD7 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect KCTD7 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, KCTD7. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel tetramerization domain-containing protein family. Family members are identified on a structural basis and contain an amino-terminal domain similar to the T1 domain present in the voltage-gated potassium channel. Mutations in this gene have been associated with progressive myoclonic epilepsy-3. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

KCTD7: contains a K+ channel tetramerisation domain (T1) found in voltage-gated K+ channel proteins. Encodes molecular determinants for the assembly of functional tetrameric channels. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.
