Other Notes
Small volumes of Mpp1 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
Mpp1 recombinant protein
This gene encodes the prototype of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family proteins. MAGUKs interact with the cytoskeleton and regulate cell proliferation, signaling pathways, and intercellular junctions. The encoded protein is an extensively palmitoylated membrane phosphoprotein containing a PDZ domain, a Src homology 3 (SH3) motif, and a guanylate kinase domain. This gene product interacts with various cytoskeletal proteins and cell junctional proteins in different tissue and cell types, and may be involved in the regulation of cell shape, hair cell development, neural patterning of the retina, and apico-basal polarity and tumor suppression pathways in non-erythroid cells. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

NCBI Summary for Mpp1
This gene encodes a protein localized to the cell membrane. The protein serves as a scaffold for the assembly of the actin cytoskeleton, and plays a role in regulating apico-basal cell polarity. [provided by RefSeq, May 2015]
UniProt Comments for Mpp1
Essential regulator of neutrophil polarity. Regulates neutrophil polarization by regulating AKT1 phosphorylation through a mechanism that is independent of PIK3CG activity.
Research Articles on Mpp1
1. Gelsolin was identified as the additional interacting partners to p55 in the whirlin interactome of hair cell stereocilia.
