Greater than 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.

Supplied as a 0.2 muM filtered solution of PBS, pH 7.4.

Lyophilized protein should be stored at -20 degree C, though stable at room temperature for 3 weeks. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 2-8 degree C for 2-7 days. Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at -20 degree C for 3 months.

Small volumes of G6PD recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Recombinant Human G6PD Protein is produced by our mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Ala2-Leu515 is expressed with a 6His tag at the C-terminus.

This gene encodes glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. This protein is a cytosolic enzyme encoded by a housekeeping X-linked gene whose main function is to produce NADPH, a key electron donor in the defense against oxidizing agents and in reductive biosynthetic reactions. G6PD is remarkable for its genetic diversity. Many variants of G6PD, mostly produced from missense mutations, have been described with wide ranging levels of enzyme activity and associated clinical symptoms. G6PD deficiency may cause neonatal jaundice, acute hemolysis, or severe chronic non-spherocytic hemolytic anemia. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
