Affinity Purified
Purified by Protein G Chromatography.
Form/Format
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in PBS pH7.4, 0.09% sodium azide, 1% BSA. Labeled with R-Phycoerythrin (PE). Reconstitute with 1ml ddH2O.
Immunogen
ABCA7 transfected HeLa cells
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degree C. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile ddH2O. Aliquot and store at 4 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Freezing R-Phycoerythrin (PE) conjugates will result in a substantial loss of activity. PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-ABCA7 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-ABCA7 antibody
Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) Binding cassette transporter 7 (ABCA7). The ABC transporters are a large family of conserved proteins that transport a wide variety of molecules across cellular membranes. ABCA7 is a member of the ABC-A sub-family, which is predominantly expressed in the thymus and in other immune and haematopoietic tissues. The exact physiological function of ABCA7 is unknown, although the molecule shows the highest homology to ABCA1 and may play a similar role in lipid homeostasis.

NCBI Summary for ABCA7
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the ABC1 subfamily. Members of the ABC1 subfamily comprise the only major ABC subfamily found exclusively in multicellular eukaryotes. This full transporter has been detected predominantly in myelo-lymphatic tissues with the highest expression in peripheral leukocytes, thymus, spleen, and bone marrow. The function of this protein is not yet known; however, the expression pattern suggests a role in lipid homeostasis in cells of the immune system. [provided by RefSeq]
UniProt Comments for ABCA7
ABCA7: Plays a role in phagocytosis by macrophages of apoptotic cells. Binds APOA1 and may function in apolipoprotein-mediated phospholipid efflux from cells. May also mediate cholesterol efflux. May regulate cellular ceramide homeostasis during keratinocytes differentiation. Belongs to the ABC transporter superfamily. ABCA family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
