This antibody is produced by immunizing mouse with a synthetic peptide (KLH-coupled) corresponding to the near of N-terminal residues of neuro-specific class III beta-tubulin.

In 1*TBS (pH7.4), 0.5%BSA, 25%Glycerol.

Store at +4 degree C after thawing. Aliquot store at-20 degree C or-80 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Small volumes of anti-TUBB3 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Tubulin is a compound of subunits of A tubulin and B tubulin. Class III beta tubulin (beta III-tubulin) is a vertebrate tubulin isotype specific to the neurons and mammalian testis cells, making it an ideal neuronal marker. Overexpression of class III beta tubulin is associated with the resistances of microtubule-targeted cancer drugs in lung cancer cell lines, breast cancer cell lines, and ovarian tumors.

This gene encodes a class III member of the beta tubulin protein family. Beta tubulins are one of two core protein families (alpha and beta tubulins) that heterodimerize and assemble to form microtubules. This protein is primarily expressed in neurons and may be involved in neurogenesis and axon guidance and maintenance. Mutations in this gene are the cause of congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscles type 3. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 6. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010]

Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha chain. TUBB3 plays a critical role in proper axon guidance and mantainance.
