Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of DCDC2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS9332098 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the doublecortin domain containing 2 (DCDC2) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing DCDC2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9332098 kit is based on DCDC2 antibody-DCDC2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect DCDC2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, DCDC2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for DCDC2
This gene encodes a member of the doublecortin family. The protein encoded by this gene contains two doublecortin domains. The doublecortin domain has been demonstrated to bind tubulin and enhance microtubule polymerization. Knockdown of this gene expression results in neuronal migration disorders similar to those seen in the brains of dyslexics. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
UniProt Comments for DCDC2
DCDC2: May be involved in neuronal migration during development of the cerebral neocortex. Defects in DCDC2 may be a cause of susceptibility to dyslexia type 2 (DYX2); also known as specific reading disability type 2. Dyslexia is a relatively common, complex cognitive disorder that affects 5% to 10% of school-aged children. The disorder is characterized by an impairment of reading performance despite adequate motivational, educational and intellectual opportunities and in the absence of sensory or neurological disability. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis
Cellular Component: cytoplasm
Biological Process: dendrite morphogenesis; neuron migration; positive regulation of smoothened signaling pathway; visual learning
Research Articles on DCDC2
1. DCDC2 overexpression in C. elegans causes an abnormal neuronal phenotype that can only be seen in ciliated neurons. Together our results suggest a potential role for DCDC2 in the structure and function of primary cilia
