The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing FOXD3. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS023422 kit is based on FOXD3 antibody-FOXD3 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect FOXD3 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, FOXD3. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

This gene belongs to the forkhead family of transcription factors which is characterized by a distinct forkhead domain. Mutations in this gene cause autoimmune susceptibility 1. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2008]

FOXD3: Binds to the consensus sequence 5'-A[AT]T[AG]TTTGTTT-3' and acts as a transcriptional repressor. Also acts as a transcriptional activator. Promotes development of neural crest cells from neural tube progenitors. Restricts neural progenitor cells to the neural crest lineage while suppressing interneuron differentiation. Required for maintenance of pluripotent cells in the pre-implantation and peri-implantation stages of embryogenesis. Expressed in chronic myeloid leukemia, Jurkat T-cell leukemia and teratocarcinoma cell lines, but not in any other cell lines or normal tissues examined.
