3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P63104
Species Reactivity
Human, Mouse, Rat
Specificity
14-3-3 beta/zeta (Phospho-Ser184/186) antibody detects endogenous levels of 14-3-3 zeta/beta only when phosphorylated at serine 184 or serine 186.
Purity/Purification
Affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide was removed by chromatography using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.
Form/Format
In phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Immunogen
The antiserum was produced against synthesized phosphopeptide derived from human 14-3-3 zeta/beta around the phosphorylation site of serine 184 or serine 186 (L-N-SP-P-E).
All Sites
Human: Ser184/186
Mouse: Ser184/186
Rat: Ser184/186
Preparation and Storage
Store at-20 degree C for 1 year.
Other Notes
Small volumes of anti-14-3-3 beta/zeta antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for 14-3-3 beta/zeta
This gene product belongs to the 14-3-3 family of proteins which mediate signal transduction by binding to phosphoserine-containing proteins. This highly conserved protein family is found in both plants and mammals, and this protein is 99% identical to the mouse, rat and sheep orthologs. The encoded protein interacts with IRS1 protein, suggesting a role in regulating insulin sensitivity. Several transcript variants that differ in the 5' UTR but that encode the same protein have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]
UniProt Comments for 14-3-3 beta/zeta
Adapter protein implicated in the regulation of a large spectrum of both general and specialized signaling pathways. Binds to a large number of partners, usually by recognition of a phosphoserine or phosphothreonine motif. Binding generally results in the modulation of the activity of the binding partner.
