Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of LIPH elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS101461 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Lipase H (LIPH) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing LIPH. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS101461 kit is based on LIPH antibody-LIPH antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect LIPH antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, LIPH. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for LIPH
This gene encodes a membrane-bound member of the mammalian triglyceride lipase family. It catalyzes the production of 2-acyl lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), which is a lipid mediator with diverse biological properties that include platelet aggregation, smooth muscle contraction, and stimulation of cell proliferation and motility. UniProt Comments for LIPH
LIPH: Hydrolyzes specifically phosphatidic acid (PA) to produce 2-acyl lysophosphatidic acid (LPA; a potent bioactive lipid mediator) and fatty acid. Does not hydrolyze other phospholipids, like phosphatidylserine (PS), phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) or triacylglycerol (TG). Defects in LIPH are the cause of hypotrichosis type 7 (HYPT7); also known as alopecia universalis congenita Mari type. A condition characterized by the presence of less than the normal amount of hair. Affected individuals have sparse or absent scalp, axillary and body hair and sparse eyebrows and eyelashes. Defects in LIPH are the cause of woolly hair autosomal recessive type 2 (ARWH2). A hair shaft disorder characterized by fine and tightly curled hair. Compared to normal curly hair that is observed in some populations, woolly hair grows slowly and stops growing after a few inches. Under light microscopy, woolly hair shows some structural anomalies, including trichorrhexis nodosa and tapered ends. Some individuals may present with hypotrichosis. Belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily. Lipase family.

Research Articles on LIPH
1. Immunohistochemistry detected LIPH expression in most of the adenocarcinomas and bronchioloalveolar carcinomas obtained from lung cancer patients. LIPH expression was also observed less frequently in the squamous lung cancer tissue samples.
