If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
Adam21 recombinant protein
This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of
biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. This gene lacks introns and its expression is testis-specific.

NCBI Summary for Adam21
This gene encodes a member of a disintegrin and metalloprotease (ADAM) family of endoproteases that play important roles in various biological processes including cell signaling, adhesion and migration. The encoded preproprotein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate a mature, functional metalloprotease enzyme. The encoded protein functions in the regulation of spermatogenesis in the testes and neurogenesis in the central nervous system. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]
UniProt Comments for Adam21
May be involved in sperm maturation and/or fertilization. May also be involved in epithelia functions associated with establishing and maintaining gradients of ions or nutrients.
Research Articles on Adam21
1. Adam21 gene produces two types of transcripts with different cellular localization in the mouse testis, and the production of these alternate transcripts is due to utilization of cell-type-specific promoters.
