The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing Tyk-2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS268392 kit is based on Tyk-2 antibody-Tyk-2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect Tyk-2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, Tyk-2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

This gene encodes a member of the tyrosine kinase and, more specifically, the Janus kinases (JAKs) protein families. This protein associates with the cytoplasmic domain of type I and type II cytokine receptors and promulgate cytokine signals by phosphorylating receptor subunits. It is also component of both the type I and type III interferon signaling pathways. As such, it may play a role in anti-viral immunity. A mutation in this gene has been associated with hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome (HIES) - a primary immunodeficiency characterized by elevated serum immunoglobulin E. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
