Product Note
Select online data sheet information is drawn from bioinformatics databases, occasionally resulting in ambiguous or non-relevant product information. It is the responsibility of the customer to review, verify, and evaluate the information to make sure it matches their requirements before purchasing the kit. Our ELISA Kit assays are dynamic research tools and sometimes they may be updated and improved. If the format of this assay is important to you then please request the current manual or contact our technical support team with a presales inquiry before placing an order. We will confirm the current details of the assay. We cannot guarantee the sample manual posted online is the most current manual.
Other Notes
Small volumes of TP53 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS287875 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Cellular tumor antigen p53 (TP53) ELISA Kit target analytes in
biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing TP53. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS287875 kit is based on TP53 antibody-TP53 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TP53 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TP53. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).
Related Product Information for
TP53 elisa kit
This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TP53 in samples. An antibody specific for TP53 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any TP53 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TP53 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TP53 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

UniProt Comments for TP53
Acts as a tumor suppressor in many tumor types; induces growth arrest or apoptosis depending on the physiological circumstances and cell type. Involved in cell cycle regulation as a trans-activator that acts to negatively regulate cell division by controlling a set of genes required for this process. One of the activated genes is an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases. Apoptosis induction seems to be mediated either by stimulation of BAX and FAS antigen expression, or by repression of Bcl-2 expression. In cooperation with mitochondrial PPIF is involved in activating oxidative stress-induced necrosis; the function is largely independent of transcription. Prevents CDK7 kinase activity when associated to CAK complex in response to DNA damage, thus stopping cell cycle progression. Induces the transcription of long intergenic non-coding RNA p21 (lincRNA-p21) and lincRNA-Mkln1. LincRNA-p21 participates in TP53-dependent transcriptional repression leading to apoptosis and seem to have to effect on cell-cycle regulation. Regulates the circadian clock by repressing CLOCK-ARNTL/BMAL1-mediated transcriptional activation of PER2.
Research Articles on TP53
1. In all normal samples, p53 was expressed in low number of epithelial cells, while a greater number of positive cells were observed in benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostatic carcinomas. Rb protein was expressed in high number of normal, hyperplastic and neoplastic cells without a statistically significant differences.
