The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing TUBb1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS9137991 kit is based on TUBb1 antibody-TUBb1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TUBb1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, TUBb1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

The calibration standards are assayed at the same time as the samples and allow the operator to produce a standard curve of optical density versus Human Tubulin Beta 1 (TUBb1) concentration. The concentration of the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

This gene encodes a member of the beta tubulin protein family. Beta tubulins are one of two core protein families (alpha and beta tubulins) that heterodimerize and assemble to form microtubules. This protein is specifically expressed in platelets and megakaryocytes and may be involved in proplatelet production and platelet release. A mutations in this gene is associated with autosomal dominant macrothrombocytopenia. Two pseudogenes of this gene are found on chromosome Y.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
