Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Related Product Information for
anti-GJA9 antibody
GJA8 is a an integral membrane protein that belongs to the connexin family, alpha-type (group II) subfamily. One gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell. A connexon is composed of a hexamer of connexins.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-GJA9 antibody
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with the primary antibody, which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma; HC = hepatocarcinoma.

NCBI Summary for GJA9
Connexins, such as GJA9, are involved in the formation of gap junctions, intercellular conduits that directly connect the cytoplasms of contacting cells. Each gap junction channel is formed by docking of 2 hemichannels, each of which contains 6 connexin subunits (Sohl et al., 2003 [PubMed 12881038]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
UniProt Comments for GJA9
GJA9: One gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell. Belongs to the connexin family. Alpha-type (group II) subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p34
Cellular Component: connexon complex; integral to membrane
Biological Process: cell communication
