Cytochrome b5 isoform 1, CYB5A, CYB5, MCB5, Microsomal cytochrome b5 type A.
Cytochrome b5 isoform 1 or CYB5A, is part of the cytochrome b5 family which is bound to the cell membrane. CYB5A has a key role in the stearyl-CoA-desaturase activity as it reduces ferric hemoglobin to ferrous hemoglobin. Cytochrome b5 isoform 1 performs as an electron carrier for numerous oxygenases that are imbedded in the cell membrane.
CYB5A produced in Sf9 Baculovirus cells is a single, glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 117 amino acids (1-108a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 13.3kDa. (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear at approximately 18-28kDa).
CYB5A is expressed with a 9 amino acid His tag at C-Terminus and purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Sterile filtered colorless solution.
CYB5A protein solution (1mg/ml) contains phosphate buffered saline (pH7.4) and 10% glycerol.
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks.
Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Greater than 90.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
