Small volumes of SGLT-1 peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
Applications Tested/Suitable for SGLT-1 peptide
Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes for SGLT-1 peptide
The peptide is used for blocking the antibody activity of SGLT-1. It usually blocks the antibody activity completely in Western blot analysis by incubating the peptide with equal volume of antibody for 30-60 minutes at 37 degree C.

NCBI Summary for SGLT-1
This gene encodes a member of the sodium-dependent glucose transporter (SGLT) family. The encoded integral membrane protein is the primary mediator of dietary glucose and galactose uptake from the intestinal lumen. Mutations in this gene have been associated with glucose-galactose malabsorption. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. UniProt Comments for SGLT-1
SLC5A1: Actively transports glucose into cells by Na(+) cotransport with a Na(+) to glucose coupling ratio of 2:1. Efficient substrate transport in mammalian kidney is provided by the concerted action of a low affinity high capacity and a high affinity low capacity Na(+)/glucose cotransporter arranged in series along kidney proximal tubules. Expressed mainly in intestine and kidney. Belongs to the sodium:solute symporter (SSF) (TC 2.A.21) family.
Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral; Transporter; Transporter, SLC family
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q12.3
Cellular Component: brush border membrane; integral to plasma membrane; apical plasma membrane; plasma membrane; intercellular junction
Molecular Function: protein binding; glucose:sodium symporter activity
Biological Process: hexose transport; sodium ion transport; carbohydrate metabolic process; pathogenesis; glucose transport; transmembrane transport; metanephros development; intestinal absorption
Disease: Glucose/galactose Malabsorption
